about Freed Gallery
For more than 30 years, Freed Gallery has been a creative landmark on the Oregon Coast, offering a welcoming space where art, curiosity, and community come together. The gallery has long been known for its breadth of artists and mediums, its generous sense of place, and a belief that art should feel both accessible and meaningful.
Today, Freed Gallery continues under new stewardship with deep respect for the values on which it was built. We are committed to thoughtful curation, lasting relationships with artists and collectors, and maintaining the gallery as a place of discovery, reflection, and connection.
As we look ahead, our focus is on honoring the gallery’s history while allowing it to evolve with care and intention. Freed Gallery remains dedicated to being a living, welcoming space where art finds a home and community is invited to gather.
Our Founder
Lee Freed
1930 — 2025
Lee Freed founded Freed Gallery more than three decades ago with a belief that art could open doors, spark confidence, and create a sense of belonging. She devoted her life to supporting artists, welcoming curiosity, and making creativity accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Lee passed away in 2025, but her presence is still deeply felt here. Her influence lives on in the artists she championed, the children she encouraged, and the many people who experienced a sense of wonder within these walls.
Freed Gallery continues in the spirit Lee established, guided by her generosity, integrity, and belief in the quiet power of art to shape lives and community.
