Gundi

Gundi is a glass artist who lived for 20 years in Chile before moving to Canada in 1973. In the early 1980’s she worked as a fashion designer in suede & leather. This occupation helped her to develop a keen sense of shape & proportion, so evident in her sculptural glass creations. The process involved in creating Gundi’s beautiful pieces of sculpture includes plate glass being cut into small pieces, tumbled to remove sharp edges & then fused with an ultra strong bonding adhesive then, shaped into a multifaceted sculpture. Gundi’s sculptures reveal hidden shapes & patterns emerging from layers of glass. Her work continues to be infused with colored glass, which can be fully customized according to taste. Each sculpture is a unique piece of glass that embodies a beguiling mix of captured light, brittle strength & supple fluidity. The clear Starphire glass gives a wonderfully clean look & an unsurpassed quality of light. Also available in blue & green. Each piece is hand created & individually signed.
