| Ann Ruttan comes by her impressionist style of painting landscapes quite naturally. Born at the base of Mount Shasta in the shadow of the Trinity Alps, her sensitivity to, and respect for nature were instilled early in her life and became an innate factor in her drive to paint the land. She studied art at Chico State College and Pacific Northwest College of Art. Her reputation has grown over the years and she now has a loyal following of collectors and art appreciators. Ann says," I find that less information in a painting can be more dramatic and interesting. It is a constant challenge to select a few of the compelling elements landscapes present and arrange them in a composition that is reminiscent of the actual, while giving life to the mystical and imagined." |
