Susan Taylor
| As an Asian raised in a totally occidental culture, Susan Taylor was inherently drawn to Asian aesthetics. Her first artistic pursuits were the studies of Japanese & Chinese calligraphy & painting. She has a deep appreciation of the simple but powerful line. Her medium, fused glass, is meaningful in the way that it is elemental. It is a living cohesion of earth & fire brought to a restful state. Yet it retains all of it's potential for organic movement and metamorphosis. This is what the artist attempts to covey to the observer as well as a wish that each piece will bestow enjoyment, satisfaction & a degree of tranquility to the owner. |
